“To ask APJ’s advisor Ponraj to become Chief Ministerial candidate”

Former President APJ Abdul Kalam’s advisor and ADA scientist Ponraj Vellaichamy would be named the Chief Ministerial candidate of the Union of Youth for Change party that would contest in all 234 constituencies in the TN Assembly elections here.

Briefing media persons here on Wednesday, Samuel Church, one of the coordinators of the party said that the representatives would approach Ponraj Vellaichamy in person to contest as the party’s CM candidate.

He added that the representatives of the party had already met with former President Kalam in 2013 and had shared their interests in getting him into politics. That time he had not obliged stating that time held the answer.

“We have been raising support for our party through Facebook and other social media and have more than five lakh supporters from all over the State. We are sure that our party would make a change in the coming elections,” he said.

He further added that the party would contest in all the 234 constituencies in the State in the Assembly elections.

Releasing a 10-point election manifesto, the member said their focus would be on development in agriculture, electricity, securing natural water bodies and creating a bond between people.
