COIMBATORE BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION (CEBACA) has been in the forefront of social and development activities.
The Association undertook a Tree Replantation project to save well grown trees on 8.2.26.
Delivering the Welcome Address at the function, Mr Ramya Senthil, President CEBACA stated that “CEBACA has been taking up various projects to serve the community.
Environmental projects have always been a priority for us. Recently we have developed a Miyawaki forest near Le Meridian at Avanashi Road by carefully nurturing trees.
Today we are glad to take up this Tree Replantation project. The Tree Replantation project is a vivid example of a tripartiate efforts to give a new lease of life.
To few trees. Our advisor Mr. G.Srinivasan’s project in hope college, Avinashi road necessitated the removal of 3 trees which are around thirty five years old. As a nature lover,
he didn’t want to cut the trees and joined hands with CEBACA which has the necessary expertise for the project . Dr GRD College of Arts & Science at Avanashi Road, came forward to give the space to accomodate the trees in its campus,” he added.
Mr. V. T. Valluvan, EC Member who was assisted by a CEBACA team undertook the task by an initial pruning exercise which was done was done at Nivasan Homes campus, Avinashi road. where the trees stood. The 3 Trees which are over 35 years old were then transported to Dr GRD College of Arts & Science campus and were replanted with proper technique and great care. They will continue to thrive at the new site at GRD College campus, he added.
Dr. K. Matheswaran, CMD, Royal Care Hospital who was the chief guest. commended CEBACA for taking up the noble task. He said in today’s context, development projects are inevitable. But they can be planned in such a way that the environmental impact is kept bare minimum. Each tree nurtures several hundred life forms including birds, microbes etc. It is our duty to preserve Nature and hand over a Green Earth to the next generation. He said that his trust had so far planted over 1 crore trees so far.
Smt. Geetha Padmanabhan, Secretary, Dr GRD College of Arts & Science, Dr. K K. RAMACHANDRAN, Vice-Principal, Dr. GRD College of Arts & Science, & Er. G. SRINIVASAN, Managing Director Srinivasan Associates Pvt Ltd. offered their felicitations. Several CEBACA members and students of Dr GRD College of Arts & Science participated in the programme.
