Manju and Max, two mongrels from Coimbatore, are among the finalists of PETA’s fourth annual Cutest Indian Dog Alive Contest.

When Manju’s guardian, Mini Vasudevan first found Manju, the latter was a mother struggling with her newborn pups. Mini got the pups adopted and had Manju sterilized. Manju had, since then, become a part of Mini Vasudevan’s family.
As for Max, he was badly injured by a vehicle and unable to walk when Shyne Priya found her. After medical treatment, the leg had healed and Max continues to brim with life.

According to the press release from PETA, the winner of the Cutest Indian Dog Alive contest will get a ‘100% Desi Dog’ t-shirt for himself/herself and an ‘I ♥ Desi Dogs’ t-shirt and a copy of Ingrid Newkirk’s book ‘Let’s Have a Dog Party!’ for his/her human guardian.

Along with certificates, the first and second runners-up will also win the doggie t-shirt for themselves and the ‘I ♥ Desi Dogs’ t-shirts for their human guardians.
