Two wardens suspended for prisoner’s suicide

Coimbatore : Two wardens were today suspended for negligence of duty, following the suicide of a rape convict yesterday by hanging from a ceiling fan on Central Jail premises here.
Srinivasan (47) undergoing imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor girl in Rangasamudram in Erode district, was working on the jail campus and suddenly went and hung himself from a ceiling fan on the verandah. He died on way to hospital.

After a departmental inquiry, Jail Superintendent Senthilkumar placed wardens -Palanivelu and Thirunavukkarasu – under suspension, police said.
