Various development projects inaugurated

Foundation for various development projects worth Rs. 131.05 crore was laid in nine places in the city corporation here on Tuesday.

The foundation stone for the road laying work at the Devanga Higher Secondary School in ward 23 worth Rs. 45.6 lakh; Road renewal work between Sanganur Bridge and Tatabad 2nd Street worth Rs. 75 lakh in ward 50; Rain water canal construction work worth Rs. 75 lakh at the Alamunagar in ward 53; road repairing work at Ramalingam Road in ward 71; road laying between the 5th and 6th street at Bharathi Nagar Main Road in ward 74 worth Rs. 48.5 lakh; road renewal works at Thelungu Street and KK Nagar block in ward 83 worth Rs. 30 lakh.

Besides, Children’s Park in K.K. Nagar, which was constructed at a cost of Rs. 10.40 lakh was inaugurated; Rs. 2 lakh worth Council Hall at Vivekanandhar Street and the Community Hall at CMC Colony in the 81st ward, which was constructed at a cost of Rs. 118.65 lakh.

Members of Legislative Assembly, Challenger Durai, R. Chinnasamy and Deputy Mayor S. Leelavathi Unni, also participated in the events.
