VGM Hospital, India’s first NABH-accredited gastroenterology hospital founded and spearheaded by veteran gastro and liver specialist Dr. V.G. Mohan Prasad has evolved into a multi-specialty healthcare center in Coimbatore with advanced facilities and new specialties.

Following its consistent delivery of excellent results for 16 years in gastro care, VGM Hospital expanded its services to include liver and kidney transplantation, cardiology with a state-of-the-art Cath Lab, a dedicated Liver ICU, a dialysis center, interventional radiology, and exclusive in-patient rooms, housed in a 6-storey block.

The inauguration of this block took place on Sunday. Vadamalai, Judge of the High Court of Madras took part in the inauguration ceremony as the Chief Guest and inaugurated it.

Narayanasamy, Hon Vice Chancellor, The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University took part in the inauguration as the esteemed guests.

While welcoming the gathering, Dr.V.G.Mohan Prasad shared that the first block of VGM Hospital was built in 2009 and they went for their first expansion after 8 years. While the hospital concentrated on Gastro care, it has undergone another expansion and now it has added a state of the art Multi-speciality block to serve more patients with the latest medical technologies. “This Institution will grow to great heights,” he remarked.

The Chief Guest, Justice Vadamalai said that this is a significant milestone in the hospital’s journey and he is excited to be a part of this upgradation, because like Dr.V.G.Mohan Prasad, he too is from Udumalpet. He expressed hope that this decision to offer multi-speciality care at VGM Hospital will bring better health to patients.

K. Veera Raghava Rao, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Labour Welfare & Skill Development Department, Tamil Nadu appreciated the hospital for aiming to offer Liver and Kidney Transplant procedures in their hospital at an affordable cost. He said this choice by them would benefit a lot of patients.
