Water from Azhiyar dam released for farms in Anamalai

Coimbatore : Tamil Nadu Deputy Speaker Pollachi V Jayaraman on Wednesday released water from Azhiyar dam for irrigation in Anamalai area in the district.
The water will be released till April 15, which will benefit 6,400 acres of paddy, banana and sugarcane.
About 961 TMC of water would be released for 139 days. C Mahendran, Pollachi MP, and Kasturivasu, MLA, were among those who attended at the function.
