Tamilaruvi Maniyan, president of Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam, said that he hoped the Tamil Nadu government will announce the closure of TASMAC outlets in the state on the occasion of Independence Day.

Maniyan also urged the TASMAC protestors to refrain from violence.

Revealing the plans for the state legislature elections, he said that the party will contest from all the 30 seats this time and has identified five seats in Coimbatore.
