Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) would consider forming a winning combination for the coming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections after feeling the pulse of the electorate, its president, G.K. Vasan said today.
Speaking to reporters at nearby Tirupur, Mr. Vasan said that he and the party leaders would be touring 200 Assembly constituencies to know the mindset of the people and their aspirations.
As part of the programme, he would be on a three-day visit to Coimbatore, Tirupur and Erode districts from October 26, Mr. Vasan said.
After visiting the constituencies, the party would take a call to form a ‘winning alliance,’ he said.
Mr. Vasan, who attended some functions in Tirupur, the knitwear hub, said that the Centre
should expedite the signing of Free Trade Agreement with European Union, so that exports could be improved and employment opportunities would increase.
The Centre and State governments should also come forward to construct apartment-type accommodation facility to the workers in Tirupur, Mr. Vasan said.
