Brookefields Mall, Coimbatore, celebrated ‘Brookefields Shakti – Be the Power,’ a mega event as part of its Women’s Day celebrations, by honouring women achievers and with lot of music and entertainment.

“As a stay-at-home mom and the founder of Swarga Foundation, I believe that come what may, life has to go on. I never miss an opportunity to perform in public or educate people on disability especially neurological diseases. However, Women’s Day is special for me and I’m happy that I have been felicitated,” Swarna Latha said. She was one of the four Coimbatore-based women to be felicitated by Brookefields Mall at the Brookefields Shakti- Be the Power Women’s Day celebration organized by the mall.

Gayathri Prakash of Shivanjali; Vanitha Mohan, the founder of Siruthuli; and C. Mekhala, Sub Inspector at the All Women’s Police Station, Coimbatore were also felicitated. “According to me women should develop self-confidence. They should mentally, physically and emotionally prepare themselves to face any situation,” Mekhala said.

Between the felicitations, guests were entertained with music and dance performances. About 50 city-based performers and students of various art schools performed that evening. Students of the Shivanjali Dance School did a traditional dance performance. The students of Devraj School of Arts (DSA) performed a contemporary dance, and Yashoda and team performed a Kalaya dance.

“Brookefields Shakti – Be the Power is a celebration of women and their well being. Through this event we have recognized the efforts of various women from Coimbatore who have and who continue to work towards promoting art, culture or a social cause,” N.A. Sujatha, Marketing Manager of Brookefields Mall, said.
