A 16-member team of Young Indians (Yi) is leaving for Vietnam tonight to learn about
the success stories of the country’s various industries, especially those in the manufacturing sector.
Talking to the reporters in Coimbatore today, Vishnu Prabhakar, the Mission Chair of Yi
Coimbatore, the host chapter, said that the team, as part of its Global Excellence Mission, will visit plants of transnational companies like Toyota, Bosch, and Coco Cola, and interact with the senior managers. The delegation will also interact with Consul General of India in Vietnam, Smita Pant.
The four-day mission, from October 29 to November 2, will provide a great learning platform to understand the best practices adopted by global companies and how they have successfully created business excellence models in their sectors, he said.
Vietnam, also called as mini-China, is one of the fastest growing manufacturing hubs in Asia and will become one of the fastest growing economies in the world by 2010, he said.
The visiting team will prepare an event report which will be of tremendous help for Indian entrepreneurs, Jayaprashanth Jayachandran, Chair– Learning of Yi Coimbatore, said.
