Among the many natural ingredients that are considered to work like a charm for the skin, one is undoubtedly almonds. Since the ancient times, it has been used in several beauty remedies to nourish the skin and keep it young and radiant. The readily available nut is a powerhouse of nutrients – it is a great source of vitamin E, antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, and is known for its skin nourishing, anti inflammatory and healing properties. So if you are looking for ways to naturally take care of your skin, you need to include almonds in your skincare regime.

We list out three ways you can make the most of almonds:

1. Almond and honey scrub

Most of you may have come across several almond scrubs in the stores, but there’s nothing quite like making it fresh at home. Most people forget but scrubbing or exfoliating is an important part of a skincare regime, and almonds can help in removing dirt from deep within the pores without leaving the skin dry.

Soak a cup of almonds in water overnight and then grind into a coarse paste. Take half a cup of it and add two tablespoons honey and a few drops of milk to make a scrub. Use it to gently scrub the skin. Wash with cold water.

2. Almond and banana moisturising pack

Almond is known for its incredible skin moisturising properties. You can use almond milk or ground almond to make a nourishing face pack and double up the benefits by adding bananas too.

Take half a cup of almond paste, and add quarter cup of mashed bananas and a tablespoon of rose water. Apply it on your face and neck and leave it on for 20 minutes before washing it with cold water.

3. Almonds to reduce skin tan

Another wonderful benefit of almond is it ability to reduce suntan by promoting the growth of new cells and repairing damaged tissues.

Take half a cup of besan (gram flour) and mix it with one cup of almond milk and quarter cup of yoghurt. Apply it on your skin and let it rest for 20 minutes. Scrub gently and then wash with cold water.
