Residents of Coonoor have urged the Railway authorities not to shift the 100-year-old engine stationed there to the depot.

In an appeal, they said a large number of people come to the station just to have a glimpse of the engine. “The engine has been parked in a corner of the station. We love to come here to have a look at the ‘vintage’ engine. Tourists too make it a point to come to the station to see the engine. If it is moved to a depot, people will not even know about its existence,” people said and appealed to the officials not to shift the engine anywhere.
