With overtime for employees stopped from 21rst of last month and production target fixed only till September, the employees of Aruvankadu Cordite factory fear a lockout. Protesting the Central government’s policy on this, the 1945 employees and 200 contract workers sat in dharna for the welfare of the employees and the economy of Nilgiris. MP K R Arjunan and MLA Shanthi Ramu participated in the protest in support of the employees and promised that they will conduct talks with the central minister and solve the issue.
