Aquaponics – An integration of agriculture and aquaculture

In the current scenario of water scarcity, Aquaponics comes as a boon.This method requires just 1/10 th of the water required in conventional agriculture and has no use for soil. The waste from the fishes are pumped into the bed of plants and they provide the necessary nutrients for the plants to grow. It is then recycled and let in back to the aquarium for the rearing of fishes. Those interested in learning about this technology can attend the workshop conducted every second Sunday.
