For the first time in Tamil Nadu, OFO cycles were launched in Coimbatore in March 2018. With an initial strength of 2000 cycles, OFO cycles fitted with GPS and company enabled locks was available to the public free of cost through an app. But certain miscreants misused the facility by removing the GPS scanner , changing the cycle color, and damaging it . Frustrated by these activities , OFO has withdrawn its services from Coimbatore and it is doubtful if the city would get another opportunity like this in the future.
