Every year around this time we celebrate Karthigai Deepam by lighting lamps all around our houses. As believed in the puranas this festival removes darkness from our lives. The earthern diyas have been made by a group of families at Kavundampalayam in the city and they have been doing so fighting all odds. Let’s take a peek into the issues they overcome to sell the diyas that lighten up homes.
