In this video from The Covai Post, Dr.Lalitha Natarajan , Fetal medicine specialist from PSG Hospitals, Coimbatore explains about the anomalies that a fetus may present and the methods to detect them. There are various blood tests, scans and procedures which are done at different stages of pregnancy to detect the anomalies, if any. Women who become pregnant after the age of 30, diabetics, hypertension patients are some who present a risk factor. Early diagnosis goes a long way in taking a decision on continuing the pregnancy or the ways to prepare for the abnormality.
