According to the World Stroke Organization, one person suffers a stroke every two seconds and 25 per cent of the population worldwide suffers a stroke in their lifetime. World Stroke Day is observed on October 29 every year to create awareness about this medical condition. The theme for this year is ‘Risks and prevention of stroke’. In line with this, The Covai Post spoke to DR. G. Bakthavathsalam, Chairman of KG Hospital, about creating awareness on stroke and its prevention.
