Chennai : In yet another action replay of Swathi murder case, another young girl was stabbed to death by a possible spurned lover outside the main gate of the Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research in KK Nagar where the girl studied. She died on the spot.

The incident took place on Friday late afternoon when the girl was coming out of the college to go home. M Aswini, a B Com student, was attacked by Alagesan with a one-foot long knife. She lay in a pool of blood and died on the spot.

Allegedly, the youth had forcibly married her three months ago, but after a police complaint by her parents, the police separated them. This has been corroborated by Madruvoil police station where the complaint was registered.

The attacker, Alagesan was caught and thrashed by the passers-by and students and later handed over to the police. The youth was taken to government hospital at Royapetta.

Additional commissioner of Police Sarangan visited the spot and investigated the spot and questioned some eyewitnesses and ordered the collection of CCTV footage from nearby areas.

The girl who lay in pool of blood was taken to hospital by students but was declared brought dead.

“We will investigate if the girl had known the boy earlier and if a complaint was lodged by parents topolice,” the police officer told media persons on the spot.
