ED attaches properties worth Rs 52 crore in Madurai granite scam

Chennai : Enforcement Directorae (ED) has attached Rs.52 crore worth of properties belonging to granite companies Sri Granites, Pallava Granite Industries and their partners in Tamil Nadu.

The properties have been attached in connection with alleged Madurai granite mining scam, the Enforcement Directorate has said in a tweet.

The ED has attached properties worth Rs.52 crore under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The ED had also last month attached 158 properties worth 37.79 crore. The properties are said to belong to C. Periyakaruppan, K. Balakrishnan, P.T. Subiah and their family members running Kumar Granites and Kumar Exports. Their properties were attached for their role in alleged granite mining scam in Madurai.
