Now, Congress wooing Captain Vijayakanth for Lok Sabha polls

Chennai : The alliance game in Tamil Nadu is not over yet. In a surprise eleventh hour move, the Congress has begun wooing Captain Vijayakanth so that he joins the coalition led by the DMK for the general elections due within two months.

Congress leader S.Thirunavukarasar on Thursday called on Vijayakanth at his residence and appraised him of the developments in the country and hoped he would take the right decision in the overall interests of the nation.

“He (Vijayakant) is a leader of a political party. I am also a leader and politician. This is an election time. If we say we did not talk politics will not be a lie,” Thirunavukarasar told media persons. The Congress has already tied up with the DMK and will be fighting 10 seats, including the one in Puducherry. The Captain Vijayakanth led DMDK was in talks with the AIADMK-BJP fir a pre-poll tie up and was demanding seven seats as was given to the PMK.

The PMK has already tied up with the AIADMK for the Lok Sabha general elections.
