Lokeshwaran and Rithika from Tiruppur decided soon after their engagement to have an environment friendly wedding. In preparation for it, they started growing vegetables and fruits in the land owned by them and adopted rain water harvesting. Apart from using these vegetables and water, plastic products were completely avoided in the wedding. Children were given gifts of toys made from palm leaves .The highlight of the festivities was the gift of Kaangeyam cow and calf by the bride’s family to the newly wedded couple.
