Teachers’ Day 2017: PM Narendra Modi salutes teaching community, pays tribute to Dr Radhakrishnan

Prime Minister took to his Twitter handle for Teachers’ Day to thank teachers who are making the society better.

In order to admire and give acknowledgment to all the teachers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, wished the entire teaching community and paid tribute to philosopher, teacher and India’s second president, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

Moreover, PM Narendra Modi said teachers have a central role in realising the dream of a ‘New India’.

“My tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan, an outstanding teacher and statesman on his birth anniversary. On Teachers’ Day, I salute the teaching community that is devoted to nurturing minds and spreading the joys of education in society,” PM Modi tweeted on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.

“Our nation has a warm tradition of the Guru Shishya parampara by which teachers impart their knowledge to students and empower them. It is our moral responsibility to pay respect and regard to teachers, as they are role models who guide children to become good and productive human beings.”

“Teachers also develop the creativity of children and kindle a desire in them to be innovative,” said Ram Nath Kovind.
