Police are on the look out for two persons, who bought two goats from a farmer by paying duplicate currencies.

According to complaint lodged at Annual police station in rural limits by 75-year old Ramasamy of Semmani Chettipalayam, some 35 km from here, two persons approached him, while he was grazing goats in a field on December 7 and sought two goats for a function in their office.

As Ramasamy sought Rs.10,000, they immediately handed over four Rs, 2,000 notes and four Rs.500 notes and took the goats.

Ramasamy, who kept the money in a box, handed over a part of it to his son, Kothandan, who was shocked to notice the same serial numbers in all the notes.

Kothandan lodged a complaint with the police, who registered a case. Similar incident was reported in some nearby areas some six months ago, and investigations were on, police said.
