Three persons were seriously injured when a lorry fell into a 500-feet gorge near Kethi on the Ooty-Mettupalayam Road.
According to sources, the lorry was on its way to Mettupalayam from Ooty. When it neared Kethi, the driver, Sasikumar, lost control of the vehicle as a result of which it fell into a 500-feet gorge.
Passersby immediately alerted 108 service personnel, who rushed to the spot and rescued Sasikumar, cleaner Muthu and Sathishkumar another occupant of the lorry. They were rushed to the Government Hospital.
Sathishkumar, who sustained head injuries, was given first aid in Ooty GH from where he was shifted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
