Coimbatore :
Over 20 activists of Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhakam (TPDK) and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) were arrested today, when they attempted to lay siege of Karnataka Association to protest against the Supreme Court verdicit, which they claimed was against the interests of Tamil Nadu.

As the workers, led by TPDK general secretary, K Ramakrishnan assembled near the Association building in Tatabad in the city, police erected barricades to prevent their entry.

However, some of the workers attempted to jump the barriers, resulting in push and pull between police and them for a while, police said.

The court ruling has meted out injustice to Tamil Nadu and the farmers and is totally in favour of Karnataka, which time and again refused to release water to the State as per the Tribunal order, Ramakrishnan alleged.

Even as police were taking the slogan shouting agitators into custody, Ramakrishnan cautioned to intensify the agitation against injustice done to Tamil Nadu
