Chennai : Is it hunger strike or strike at hunger?

If one went by the pictures of AIADMK men gorging on Biryani and or Tomato rice during their ‘hunger strike’ to protest centre’s failure to set up CMB on Tuesday, it seems to be the latter.

Unable to keep away the hunger pangs, the AIADMK cadres and leaders dived into the containers of Biryani and curd chutney and served themselves big portions even as the day-long hunger strike was halfway through.

Naturally the opposition dubbed it a farce even as the AIADMK hid behind the excuse that the pictures were morphed and not the real ones. In Vellore the AIADMK cadres had sumptuous lunch but in Coimbatore they got into a drinking binge to celebrate the hunger strike.

Opposition DMK said the hunger strike was nothing but a total farce and a show to fool the peopleof Tamil Nadu that they were doing something on the Cauvery issue.

The reality is that the EPS government has not done anything and was only fooling the people said a senior DMK leader. The government is not at all on Cauvery issue and is acting like the branch office of the central government in Chennai, the DMK leader alleged.

DMK leader TKS Elangovan said the hunger strike was nothing but a drama enacted on the orders of the BJP government in Delhi.

TTV Dhinakaran faction blasted the EPS-OPS combine as power hungry individuals serving the political masters in Delhi.

OPS went to Delhi several times but did not do anything on Cauvery issue, she alleged and said that other than Amma no one had done anything of significance on Cauvery.
