PM yet to give time to discuss on Cauvery issue: TN CM

Coimbatore: There was no no response so far from Prime Minister for the letter seeking time to discuss Cauvery issue, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edapadi K Palanisamy said today.

“I have written to prime minister, seeking time to discuss the issue, along with all party delegation and farmers’ leaders and also sent reminders. However, there was no no response so far,” Palanisamy told reporters in nearby Salem.

However, he expressed hope that the Centre will constitute Cauvery Management Board by May three, as directed by Supreme Court.

Earlier, Palanisamy laid foundation stone for the construction of a memorial for late chief ministers and party leaders, M G Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa at Anna Park in the city.

The life size bronze statues, at a cost of Rs.80 lakh on area of 2,100 Sq.ft will be erected at the entrance of the park, official sources said.
