Girl student in Coimbatore hospital alleges vyouver presence in hostel rest room

Coimbatore: A student of anesthesia at a private hospital in the city had a shock of her life last night when she went to the hostel rest room to find someone perched on the window and a scream resulted in her being attacked, leading to injuries.
S Ramya, a fourth-year BSc student of anesthesia, recounted her nightmare. “Around 2 am, I woke up to use the rest room but was scared and shocked to find a man sitting on the window sill. I couldn’t recognise the person because it was pitch dark,” said Ramya. She immediately shouted and the result was her being pulled by the man causing injuries to her hands.

She suspects that he took something along with him while escaping, could be a camera was what she said. The hostel for boys is right opposite and someone had seen a flash light from there earlier.
When the girls revealed the incident to the security guard asked for the warden to be woken up, they were told the warden was asleep could not be woken up. Students said that later in the day, the warden refused to say anything about the matter.
Ramya said she narrated her ordeal to her parents who were shocked as they never received any intimation from the hostel authorities, she said. Hostel authorities told her parents that it could be cat which `scratched’ their daughter’s hand.
Ramya’s father said, “We send our children from far off places to study but the authorities at the hostel don’t seem to be concerned. When parents demanded that their wards be shifted, authorities warned them stating it was impossible because exams are to be held in a month.”
No formal police complaint has been lodged. The hostel warden refused to speak to TCP and hospital authorities too remained unreachable for comments.
