Coimbatore: City police are investigating a complaint lodged by a female PG student that the head of Psychology department and hostel authorities in Bharathiar University here have used abusive language against her some six months ago.

In a complaint sent to the Tamil Nadu Governor, DGP, Human Rights Commission and the Chief Minister of Kerala, the student Haritha, hailing from Malappuram in Kerala, accused the department head, Velayutham of using abusive language and compelling her to leave the university.

As a follow up action, hostel head Dharmaraj and Velayutham used abusive language against her in the class in front of other students and also asked her to stand up on the bench, the complainant said adding that Velayutham summoned
her to his room and after bolting the door from inside, used foul language against her.
