Coimbatore : One more person wasxd arrested early today at Anaikatty on the outskirts, in connection with the seizure of fake currency notes.

Police had arrested one Ananth while he was transporting Rs 2,000 denomination fake currency worth Rs 83 lakh. On information from him, police recovered copying and cutting machines and colour chemical bottles and a huge quantity of notes from a house in Velandipalayam on Friday. The total seizure of currency was worth Rs1.18 crore.

Based on Ananth’s confession, police had formed two special teams to nab Kithar Peer Mohammed and Sundar, said to be the kingpins of the racket, reportedly hiding in neighbouring Kerala. Anand had met both, who were arrested for their involvement in printing or photocopying of fake currencies, some eight years ago and lodged in the same cell in the Central Jail here.
