Meet on science and technology concludes tomorrow

COIMBATORE: More than 600 scholarly publications featured during the first two days of the International Conference on Science, Technology, Engineering and Management (ISTEM) – 2018.
Organised by Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), the three-day conference, that concludes here on Tuesday, aims at serving faculty, students, interdisciplinary researchers, engineering professionals, managers and others engaged in teaching, research and development or scholarly works in physical and biological sciences, computer science and information technology, all areas of engineering and technology and management.
Prof. Kumaran Palanisamy, Managing Director of the Centers of Research and Development at the Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, who was the chief guest, outlined the progress made by Malaysia in the field of higher education in the last two decades. “Universities and industries there translate academic research output into commercial products that the public can benefit from,” he said.
Prof. Seshadri Ramkumar of Texas Tech University, Lubbock, U.S.A.spoke on the importance of engaging the students in research activities at the earlier stages itself.
Prof. Mukesh Doble of IIT-Madras was present. M. Balasubramaniam, Correspondent, KCT chaired the conference.
