Custody of suspected Maoists extended till November 30

The judicial custody of five Maoists was extended till November 30 today. They were detained under the NSA.

The Maoists – Roopesh, his wife Shyna, Kannan, and Anoop, currently lodged in the Coimbatore central jail, were produced before the Principal District Judge, who extended their custody till the end of November. The fifth Maoist, Eswaran, was not produced before the court.

While stepping out of the court, the NSA detainees raised slogans in support of Kovan and demanded his immediate release. The folk singer was also detained under the NSA.
