Coimbatore : A CRPF head constable, on duty at the central prison here and missing since November 3, was reportedly found celebrating Deepavali in his home town.

Annadurai (46), working at CRPF Battalion Camp at the prison for the last two years, went gone to take bath at 5 pm on November 3, after guard duty, police said.

As he did not return for duty, the camp office had lodged a missing complaint with Race Course police the next day, they said.

Investigation revealed that Annadurai, fearing that he would not get leave for Diwali, left for his native town of Orathanadu in Thanjavur district. A departmental inquiry has been initiated and action was expected against him, they said.
