Solatium for elephant attack victims’ families

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, on Friday, announced solatium for the families of the victims killed by elephants in Coimbatore, the Nilgiris and Dindigul districts.
A solatium of Rs. 3 lakh would be given to families of S. Dharman of Alandurai in Coimbatore who was killed by an elephant near Valayankuttai on Thursday, and B. Ramasamy from Kadinamala in Kothagiri who was also killed by an elephant near Karakodumattam on August 20.
She also announced the same amount to the family of Forest Guard Muthusamy from Karadimadai who was killed by elephants while chasing back an elephant herd into the forest near Othakalmandapam on September 9.
The same amount was also given to the family of K. Pappa from Vadakadu in Ottanchathiram who succumbed at a hospital after being attacked by an elephant on August 19.
In a release, the CM said that she was deeply grieved for the loss of the families.
