Aged couple die in gas cylinder explosion in Pollachi

Coimbatore : An aged couple were charred to death today after the cooking gas cylinder exploded in their house in Rasakkapalayam near Pollachi, about 40 kms from here.
A spark of fire lit some dry leaves outside the house and this is said to have spread to the kitchen, leading to the explosion and death of the duo, police said.
The dead have been identified as a retired teacher Shanmugavadivel and his wife Krishnaveni. Further investigations are on, they said.
