Coimbatore : A ruling party MLA today attributed the fall of DMDK to the ‘uncivilized behaviour’ of its President Vijayakanth.

Replying to a specific question on the reported remarks by Premalatha Vijayakanth that Vijayakanth had stood up against former Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa in the State assembly, Sulur MLA, Kanagaraj said that it was Jayalalithaa who made Vijayakanth the opposition leader and his behaviour had led to the fall of the party.

Expressing hope that DMDK would join the alliance, he said that it would get some 500 to 1,000 additional votes to the alliance.

“It is her personal opinion,” was his reply to a question on the remarks by Premalatha that the 37 AIADMK MPs had done nothing for Tamil Nadu.

It was a major mistake for the DMDK to hold talks with both AIADMK and DMK, at the same time Kanagaraj said adding that the entire State was observing that party.
