Podanur mechanic murdered in broad daylight

Coimbatore : A 40-year-old mechanic was hacked to death by a six-member motorcycle borne gang, while he was working in his garage in Podanur on the outskirts, in full public view .
The gang in three two-wheelers suddenly entered the workshop and hacked Parandhaan with sickles and sharp weapons aat 11 a.m, resulting in his death on the spot, police said.
The gang managed to damage the CCTV cameras in the garage and also threatened three other workers, including a woman, of dire consequences if they revealed their identify, police said.
Police rushed to the spot and sent the body for postmortem. Investigations are on to determine the murder motive, they said.
