Mega health check-up camp for school Childrens

Coimbatore: Sindhi International School (CBSE), in association with Kovai Diabetes Speciality Centre and Hospital, Ramnagar, and the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Sai City, organised a mega health check-up camp titled “Bootcamp to Reboot Your Health – 2025” at the school premises on Thadagam Road on Saturday. The camp was conducted between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Over 800 participants, including students, parents, teachers, and staff, benefitted from the initiative.

The multi-disciplinary camp featured consultations and screenings by a panel of doctors and healthcare specialists from reputed institutions in Coimbatore.

The medical team included Dr. R. Balamurugan, Senior Consultant Diabetologist and Head of Kovai Diabetes Speciality Centre and Hospital; Dr. K. Abinaya, Dental Surgeon and Endodontist from Prime Dental Clinic, Ramanathapuram, along with a team of dentists; Dr. M. Swathika, Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Dr. A. Jaleel Ahamed, Senior Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist, Royal Care City Centre Hospital; and Dr. Kosalram, Consultant Ophthalmologist from Ponnammal Eye Hospital, Ramnagar, with his team. Other specialists who contributed included Sri Balamurugan, Physiotherapist, Kovai Diabetes Speciality Centre, and Hospital, Ramnagar; P. Hariprasath, Chief Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologist, ISAI Speech and Hearing Care Centre, Papanaickenpalayam; Ms. Subashini, Dietician; and Ms. Poorna, Dietician. The camp offered eye, ear, and dental check-ups for children, while adults underwent diabetes, blood pressure, cardiac, and eye examinations.

In addition, awareness sessions were held on physical health, nutrition, and exercise. Dieticians provided dietary guidance, physiotherapists explained the importance of regular exercise, and a gynaecologist addressed female students, staff, and mothers on health awareness. School Chairman Kamlesh V. Raheja, Principal Bagyalakshmi Srinivasan, and Rotary Club President Halthurai participated in the event.

The arrangements were coordinated by Kovai Diabetes Speciality Centre and Hospital. Mr. Aadithya Srinvasan, an upcoming Doctor, son of Principal Mrs.Bagyalakshmi Srinivasan, also rendered his services in the camp.
