CMS College of Science and Commerce, Coimbatore, celebrated the vibrant harvest festival of Pongal with great enthusiasm on 12th and 13th January 2026 at the college premises. The two-day celebration commenced on 12th January with rangoli and various traditional competitions, witnessing active participation from students.
The festivities continued on 13th January with “VAADIVAASAL 2026 – Spirit of Pongal”, organised by the students. The campus was adorned with elegant floral decorations, while the rhythmic beats of Jamab filled the air, creating a lively and festive ambience. Students participated enthusiastically in a series of vibrant cultural performances that reflected the spirit and traditions of Pongal.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. S. Vimalanand, Principal. Shri. P. V. Sajiesh Kumar, Vice-Chairman, CMS Educational and Charitable Trust, delivered the Presidential Address. The programme was graced by the presence of Shri. K. Gereesan, Chairman, CMS Educational and Charitable Trust; Shri. K. V. Sasidharan, Joint Secretary; Dr. S. Sandhya Menon, CEO, CMS Group of Institutions and others participated in the celebrations. The event created a spirit of cultural richness, unity, and togetherness, making the Pongal celebration a memorable occasion for the entire campus community.
