New Delhi – ONGC team in the men’s category and South Western Railway team in the women’s category won the trophy

Coimbatore, August 30, 2026 – Coimbatore PSG Sports Club is organizing the 60th Men’s and 1st Year PSG Trophy All India Basketball Tournaments. The tournament began on the 26th and lasted for five days till the 30th today.
In the women’s final match held today (30.08.2026) at 5.00 pm, Hubli – South Western Railway team played against Secunderabad – South Central Railway team. In this, South Western Railway team won by a score of 65 – 54.
The men’s final match was played at 6:15 pm between Chennai – Rest of Tamil Nadu and New Delhi – ONGC. The ONGC team won by a score of 71 – 66.
Earlier today (30.08.2026) at 7:00 am, the Coimbatore – Coimbatore District Basketball Team played against the Salakkudi – Sacred Heart Hospital team for the 3 and 4 place. The Sacred Heart Hospital team won by a score of 66 – 51.
In the men’s category, the Chennai – Indian Bank team played against the Thiruvananthapuram – Kerala State Electricity Board team. The Indian Bank team won by a score of 84 – 71.
The winner of the men’s final, ONGC, was awarded the first prize of Rs. 1,00,000 and a trophy, the second placed Rest of Tamil Nadu team was awarded Rs. 75,000 and a trophy, the third placed Indian Bank team was awarded Rs. 40,000, the fourth placed Kerala State Electricity Board team was awarded Rs. 30,000 and the best sportsman award was given to Mr. Rishikesh, a player from the Rest of Tamil Nadu team.
The South Western Railway team, which won the women’s final, was awarded the first prize of Rs. 75,000 and a trophy, the 2nd place South Central Railway team was awarded Rs. 50,000 and a trophy, the 3rd place Sacred Heart Hospital team and the 4th place Coimbatore District Basketball team were awarded Rs. 25,000 each, and the best sportswoman award was given to Veeha Reddy from the South Central Railway team.
At this event, former players who studied at PSG colleges and became famous in basketball and students who have achieved success at the Indian level studying at PSG educational institutions were specially presented with cash prizes.
The prize distribution ceremony held today was graced by the Managing Trustee of PSG Institutions, Mr. L. Gopalakrishnan, and the Managing Director of CRI Pumps Companies and the President of Coimbatore District Basketball Association, Mr. G. Selvaraj presented prizes to the winners of the competitions.
The arrangements for the competitions were made by the President of PSG Sports Club, Dr. R. Rudhramurthy and Secretary, Mr. T. Palaniswami.
