Female elephant electrocuted

A nine-year old female elephant was found electrocuted, today on the fence of a banana farm, which was illegally electrified from a house in Devarcholai, near Gudalur, some 80 km from here.
Noticing the elephant lying on the fence, public informed police and also Forest Department officials, who rushed to the spot from Gudalur.
DFO Tejasvi, after inspecting the spot, said that electricity was connected to the fence of the farm, near Mayfield Estate, from the house of Mohammed.
Two persons, who are cultivating banana on contract, have been taken for interrogation, he said.
