The days of AIADMK rule in Tamil Nadu are numbered, as the people are yearning for change, DMK Women’s wing secretary and MP, Kanimozhi said today.

Addressing a demonstration organised by the Coimbatore and Tirupur Units of the party seeking total prohibition, here, Kanimozhi said that the people gathered in large number was a clear indiction that they wanted to install a DMK government in the State in 2016 polls.

The chief minister, Jayalalithaa was claiming that the entire election promises were fulfilled, and the truth was that no schemes, like old age pension, marriage assistance and free mixie and grinders, were reaching the people properly.

Stating that law and order situation in the State has been deteriorated, Kanimozhi, quoting a Delhi-based survey, said that Tamil Nadu tops the10 states, where crime rates were very high.

After the death of Gandhian, Sasi Perumal, all sections of the population, particularly women and handicapped persons, were demanding total prohibition in the State, which the Government and the minister were claiming not not possible, she said, adding. that all the liquor shops will be closed, once DMK returned to power in the next polls.

Talking to reporters, Kanimozhi said that party chief, M Karunanidhi has already announced that prohibition will be DMK’s first priority and the first signature on assuming power. On alliance for the polls, Kanimozhi said that Karunanidhi will decide the issue and announce at the right time.

She also condemned the attack on the house of dismissed AIADMK MLA, Pazha Karuppaiah and termed it as the ‘height of political indecency.’
