With the Assembly elections fast approaching in the State, the anti-corruption wave which is prevailing here would be enough to end the 50-year regime of the Dravidian parties, said K. Subburayan, former MP and current Joint Secretary of the CPI.

Meeting with media persons here, Subburayan said that the anti corruption wave had also helped the Makkal Nala Koottani gain support in the State.

“People turn up in large numbers to our rallies as we approach our fifth stage election campaign. Our policies will be new and benefitting,” he said.

Coming down heavily on DMK, ADMK, PMK, BJP and the Congress for involving in proven or believable corruption charges, the former MP said that the alliance was keen on approaching DMDK and Tamil Manila Congress as they had no proven corruption charges.

“We have no relationship with the five parties and have no interest in approaching parties which are forging alliance with the five parties,” he claimed.

Condemning the casteist ideologies of the ruling BJP and the RSS, Subburayan said that it had instigated more than 80 honour killing cases in TN.

“The recent Udamalpet incident has proven that even the State Government is endorsing such ideologies as the complaints given by the couple before the incident were not considered by the police,” added Subburayan.

Further, accusing the BJP, Subburayan added that the Central Government should first look at developing rural areas before endorsing the smart city scheme which is “largely targeted at benefitting the corporate society”.
