The Arulmigu Sri Rathna Vinayagar Temple that is located on Diwan Bahadur Road in R.S. Puram had a different set of visitors this evening.
Nearly 50 people from Coimbatore participated in the ‘Pray India’ Campaign that was launched at Arulmigu Sri Rathna Vinayagar Temple. As part of this campaign, a six-feet incense stick of Akhand flavour was lit at the temple by M. Hariharasudhan, Executive Director, ABT Limited, Coimbatore. This incense stick will be continue to burn for the next 24 hours.
The crowd was a mix of school students, college goers, professionals and entrepreneurs and they all had one thing in common. They want India to emerge victorious in the ongoing International Cricket Council (ICC) Twenty20 World Cup.
Speaking to The Covai Post, C. Sundar, priest at the Arulmigu Sri Rathna Vinayagar Temple said: “This is the second year that this company is organising this initiative at this temple. This year more number of people participated. I saw some new faces who never come to this temple otherwise visit today. We offered special prayers too.”
This campaign, an initiative of brand Cycle Pure Agarbathies, was launched simultaneously in about 50 cities across India today. “In India cricket is a religion. This game brings people of all walks of life together. We Indians have been associated with this game with pure emotions. ‘Pray India’ Campaign aims to bring together people from different walks of life to pray for India’s victory in the Twenty20 World Cup”.
