Not willing to marry his lover who allegedly gave birth to a boy fathered by him, son of an AIADMK functionary is said to have abandoned her and fled the town.

According to R. Radhamani (26) from A.S. Kulam, she had reportedly fallen in love with S. Rameshkumar (31), son of AIADMK functionary, while she was working in a mill.

The duo where involved in a five-year relationship and the girl had become pregnant. She had agreed to his sexual advances after a promise of marriage by Rameshkumar.

However, her relatives claimed that Rameshkumar denied ever having a relationship with her after getting to know that she was pregnant.

They added that his attempts to get the child aborted were also foiled by Radhamani and she had allegedly given birth to a boy who was now three months old.

When Radhamani’s relatives approached Rameshkumar’s parents Subramani and Logammal, they had abused them. They promised compensation but refused to agree for marriage. Meanwhile, Rameshkumar left for Salem.

Pointing out that Rameshkumar’s family had threatened them with dire consequences, Radhamani’s family approached District Collector Archana Patnaik with a petition.
