“Multi-pronged extension management strategies for dry land agricultural development with special reference to promoting climate resilient agriculture” is the topic of the 21-day summer school that Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) intends to conduct at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, starting tomorrow. Around 25 agriculture scientists from Tamil Nadu., Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Assam are participating in the session.

The course intends to create awareness on methods like dry land agriculture, soil fertility management, rain water harvesting, precision farming, and medicinal plants. Efforts will also be made to make agriculture attractive for youngsters.

Dry land agriculture constitutes nearly 50% of Indian agriculture, and is influenced by factors like rainfall and unpredictable climate changes.
