Environment Day celebrations at school

City based-NGO Pasumai Desam and Mas Kids Preschool today organised a function in the school premises to celebrate the World Environment Day.
Around 25 saplings were planted in the school and the children were presented with saplings and advised to plant it at their homes. They were also given instructions on the do’s and don’ts to be followed while growing trees.
World Environment Day is observed on June 5 every year.
Pasumai Desam founder R. Rajendran said his NGO has plans to plant around one lakh saplings in the city in the next one year. “We plan to involve schools and colleges in this drive so that children learn the importance of environment. They will turn responsible citizens.”
According to him many corporate houses have come forward to extending financial assistance for this drive.
