Farmer dies of cardiac arrest on bank premises

Thanjavur: In a tragic incident, a farmer who visited the local branch of Indian Bank in Papanasam suffered a cardiac arrest and died on the spot today.

Sivasubramanian, 70, of Pillaiyarkoil street in Vaazhkai village, went to the bank to withdraw money. Much to the shock of those present there, he collapsed on the floor after he reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest. People sprinkled water on his face to try and revive him, but failed.

Subramanian is survived by his wife Thaiyalnayagi, four daughters and a son. Papanasam police have registered a case of suspicious death and are investigating.
